Vacuum carburising offers significant advantages to precision parts manufacturing producing components such as gearboxes, fuel injection systems and other tight tolerance applications. The process has very low distortion levels, and provides steel parts with case hardened surfaces, free from surface and intergranular oxidation. This virtually eliminates downstream post processing operations such as cleaning and grinding, to maintain Wallwork's position at the forefront of heat treatment technology, and further extends the local service to support West Midlands manufacturing.

The new furnace technology uses multi-pulsed gas management, which allows case hardening to be carried out on very complex shapes, including blind holes and deep, small diameter bores.
