Subsidised 2005/6 Programme for Overseas Trade Missions

In order to promote the overseas market for the engineering industry, the following overseas exhibitions have been successful in securing subsidies from UK Trade & Investment. This would effectively reduce the cost of participation and enable exhibitors to take advantage of grants of 50% of the expenditure on stand space, construction and freight up to a ceiling of between £1,600 and £2,000, says Karen Finegold, of the Engineering Industries Association (Tel: 020 8950 9832, Kfinegold@aol. com).
MIDEST, Industrial Subcontracting Exhibition, Paris, France, 15 - 18 November 2005, incorporating: Metal processing - Screw cutting, Machining, Special machines, Finishing, Surface Treatment, Thermal Treatment, Industrial Fasteners, Forging, Foundry, Fabrication, Shaping and cutting metals, semi-finished products, Plastics, Rubber, Composite Materials Processing, Electronics and Electricity, Microtechnics, Industry Services - Engineering, Design, Research, Quality, Industrial Maintenance and Service.
METALEX, International Machine Tools and Metalworking Technology, Bangkok, Thailand, 17 - 20 November 2005, incorporating: Sheet metal, machine tools, tools & tooling, mould & die, foundry, welding technology, assembly technology, flexible manufacturing system, manufacturing software, wire/spring/fastener, tube technology, control measurement, testing equipment and tools. The EIA is organising a trade mission, to Bangkok, 14 - 18 November 2005, to coincide with Metalex.

The EIA is organising a trade mission to Chicago, 20 - 23 March 2006, to coincide with National Manufacturing Week.
