Services Enhanced with Flagship Press Brake

Sheet metal laser cutting specialist Lakeland Laser, based in Cumbria, has recently purchased a new press brake machine, and has also launched a new website and brochure. The new Trumpf Trubend 8000 complements the existing range of multi-axis press-brakes, which, when coupled with an  ability to produce cost effective bespoke tooling for small batch work, further enhances the service for customers.

The Trumpf Trubend 8000 is an extremely capable flagship machine bending with up to 225 tonnes over 4m. It is fitted with a 5 axis backgauge  and CNC controlled crowning. A feature is the CNC controlled multi-v bottom die which allows the creation of complex geometries, including hemming, in a single cycle.

Added to this is the Trumpf LCB laser controlled bending device, producing high accuracy in-cycle bend angle measurement. The machine has been equipped with a very comprehensive range of sectioned tooling to enable a rapid turnaround of even the trickiest parts. This is to complement the existing range of multi-axis press-brakes, which, when coupled with an ability to produce cost effective bespoke tooling for small batch work, further enhances the service for customers.

Lakeland works with all grades of mild and stainless steel, titanium, aluminium and specialist niche alloys to produce a variety of items ranging from simple flat cut parts up to more complex components and fully finished assemblies. The company operates a comprehensive range of metal processing equipment as well as state-of-the-art industrial laser technology and the latest CAD/CAM systems.
