Industry Needs to Engage with Rapid Manufacturing
01 Jul 2006
Renault F1 will be co-presenting a manufacturing management paper with world leading aerospace company Boeing Phantom Works, entitled, 'Immediate Industry Needs to Fully Engage the Rapid Manufacturing Revolution', at TCT 2006, the UK's largest Rapid Product Development and Manufacturing Exhibition and Conference, being held 19th-20th September 2006, at the Heritage Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire.
The paper will focus on the four key areas required to enhance industry evolution. These include: The identification of system needs (present and future); Evaluation of material advancements required to span the 'applications gap'; Industry shortcomings such as reliable maintenance, future sustainment of existing systems, and a base level of standardisation for reported properties and; The education of design communities that are struggling with parts not having 'DFMA' (Design For Manufacturing & Assembly) requirements.
Running alongside the conference will be an exhibition, with more than 60 leading RPD companies presenting their products and services.
