Spiral Curves Formed on Aluminium Extrusions
01 May 2006
Holden Aluminium Technologies Ltd (HAT), which specialises in the fabrication and forming of aluminium extrusion, launched a new development in spiral forming at this year's Interbuild Show at the NEC, last month. The technique has been developed over the last five years and allows an aluminium section to follow the inner path of a spiral stairway; it is now in daily use for the manufacture of stair lift rails.
HAT, based near Bromyard, West Midlands, services a range of industries although primarily transport, electronic and construction. The company is also involved in providing technology for the manufacturing of medical equipment. HAT prides itself on its flexible approach and with its inhouse design and tool making facilities is able to work to very tight deadlines.
According to Jeremy Holden HAT's executive vice chairman: "Design and development has been the base from which Holden companies have grown.
Finding the European engineering market under increased pressure from world wide low cost labour markets and imports, HAT is advancing its technical development and investing in new techniques, equipment and most importantly, skilled people."
