Companies Cooperate on Corrosion Resistant Parts

Weld cladding specialist Arc Energy Resources has developed a 12-year relationship with W Maass (UK) Ltd, a manufacturer of special connectors, flanges and other pipeline equipment for oil, petrochemical and process projects around the world. The two companies have agreed to cooperate where corrosion resistance is a vital element in component specifications.

The two companies have agreed to cooperate where corrosion resistance is a vital element in component specifications.

The most recent example is a contract for 35 pipeline bulkheads destined for the Tweedsmuir Development in the North Sea. The insulated bulkheads, which consist of inner and outer pipes with 12”-18” and 8”-14” nominal bores, are designed to maintain the temperature of the fluid in sub-sea pipelines to ensure uninterrupted flow. They were manufactured by W Maass from high yield carbon steel forgings and their inner surfaces were clad by Arc Energy with a 3.5mm coating of Inconel 625.
