Automotive Firm Pushes Into International Markets

Squires Gear & Engineering, based in Coventry celebrated its 21st birthday and also gained accreditation to ISO/TS16949 this year. The first and second tier supplier of braking and suspension system components, gears, spindles and other specialist components for the automotive and commercial vehicle industries is continually adapting to an increasingly modern automotive sector.

Doug Squires, managing director of the firm, which has an annual turnover of £2.3m, said the company is hoping to push into new international markets as a result of the award. Squires is already exporting to the United States as well as many European countries.

Squires was helped to achieve the accreditation by the Business Link service at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, with a £5,000 grant from Accelerate to help pay for advice from a consultancy company.
