UK's Largest Water Jet Profiler Opens Doors to New Markets

Leading subcontract supplier of profiled parts, Sheffield based Charles Day (Steels) Ltd, has installed the largest waterjet cutting machine operational in the UK. 

Established for more than 30 years supplying a large range of steel profiles to UK industry, Charles Day is one of very few UK companies able to offer a flame cutting, CNC Laser cutting and CNC waterjet cutting from a single site.

Installed last year, the Water Jet Sweden 9m x 4m-bed profiler 3015EB-NC, allows low density slabs as thick as 300mm to be profiled. The table loading is 1.2t/m2. The machine has already enabled the business to serve a wider customer base. Anything from dense materials like granite or glass, to low density materials such as plastic and soft, flexible materials such as rubber and foam, can now be profiled.
