Hampshire based PBM offers honing as a low cost option for fast stock removal from complex machined parts. Honing on many occasions is the only solution to removing material selectively and accurately when the option to internally grind fails. Honing can remove microns to millimetres if required, in every conceivable material available, including carbides and glass.

The company’s temperature controlled honing facilities cover both horizontal and vertical machines, with a capacity from 1.5mm up to 350mm internal diameter (ID), whilst its superfinishing capacity covers 6mm ID components as well as 60mm diameter. Parts with bore tolerances to 0.001mm accuracy are achievable, as are finishes of 0.05Ra. PBM can offer gun drilling and ejector drilling from 1.6mm to 90mm ID. Larger bores can also be accommodated on dedicated ejector boring machines.
