Equip Auto Increases Custom

With 110 days to go before the exhibition opens its doors on 15 October, EQUIP AUTO 2007 can already confirm massive interest from French and international exhibitors for this 18th session. 93% of the available exhibition space has already been booked by some 2,000 companies.

This high take-up, higher than in 2005, suggests that the exhibition is set to meet its targets: from 15 to 20 October, 2,140 exhibitors – including 75% international exhibitors – will welcome more than 140,000 visitors.

EQUIP AUTO 2007 will build on the initiatives introduced in 2005 with a range of high-impact events for visitors and exhibitors, in two categories; 100% B2B, the OEM Meetings, taking place on 16 and 17 October and 100% practical: the Business Exchange and Recruitment Mart (19 and 20 October) and the “Future Pro” Workshops (16 to 18 October).

These events will complement the show’s established flagship events: the Bodywork Colloquium (organised by the FFC and GIAC, morning of 18 October), the Higher Education conference (morning of 19 October), the “SIA – French association of automotive engineers – afternoons” (15, 16, 17 and 18 October from 3 pm to 5 pm) and the Technology Talks (every day).

The aim of the OEM Meetings (16 and 17 October) is to bring international suppliers into contact with the major buyers relevant to their specialism. The latter – buyers working for the major global automakers and parts suppliers – provide information about their purchasing requirements.

The aim of the “Future Pro” workshops is to provide students working towards a qualification in the automotive sector with detailed information on their profession and perhaps offer them a route into employment. The workshops will be run by the leading automotive after-sales networks, independent businesses and manufacturers for trainees at six specialist automotive training colleges, focusing on specific sectors:
