Glorious sunshine was the order of the day as the champagne flowed and everyone enjoyed the event which marked 10 years for Redline as a local Surrey engineering company.

The ribbon was cut to a loud cheer and the electric doors opened to reveal a gleaming blue floor and a breathtaking array of modern production CNC lathes and machining centres.

The Mayor said: It is refreshing to see a young go ahead Company investing in manufacturing in the Borough, the range of machinery was incredible and seeing them all working was a treat indeed.

Madam Mayor smiled as she went on to say: Not only is this the first ribbon cutting ceremony that I have performed, but it is the first time I have started a production machine to make parts for breathing ventilators for new born babies.

Dave Gorsuch, a director, said: what a great day. I think Madam Mayor really enjoyed herself. She is a naturally warm lady who showed a genuine interest in engineering, coupled with a good depth of knowledge.

Customers and suppliers were given a guided tour around the factory before going up to the offices for a buffet lunch. One customer commented he was amazed to see such modern facilities, which would put Redline well ahead of the competition.

The factory, now fully operational, ships out it first orders on the 1st August 2007.
