New autosport and aerospace show takes off at Farnborough
18 Jul 2007
The organiser of the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show, ETES, has announced the launch of a brand new show, Auto Aero Farnborough 08.
Taking place on 6th and 7th of February, the new event will run alongside the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show, whose move to Farnborough was announced last week.
The Auto Aero Farnborough show will provide the perfect opportunity for high performance engineering and technology suppliers to showcase products and services to the rich seam of autosport and aerospace specialists located along the M3 and M4 corridors.
Managing director of ETES, Phil Valentine said “Autosport and aerospace remain key sectors of activity within UK manufacturing generally, and in the South of England in particular. The UK is a world-leader in design and innovation, quality workmanship and precision engineering. Auto Aero Farnborough 08 will provide the ideal platform for specialist suppliers operating in these areas to promote their services locally, nationally and internationally.”
Already very familiar as the home of the world-famous Farnborough International Airshow, the newly announced Farnborough International Venue and Events (FIVE) facility provides the perfect setting for the new exhibition. Phil Valentine said, “We know from our ten year’s experience of running the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show that there is a huge market for specialist engineering services in this area.
22% of visitors to last year’s event were from the autosport/automotive sector and over 25% from the aerospace industry.” He continued, “Auto Aero Farnborough 08 will follow our highly successful formula of providing a cost-effective means for SMEs to promote their engineering and technology expertise to a highly-qualified visitor list.” He added, “We are already planning exciting additional show features with the collaboration of several well-known players in the auto/aero sectors, together with a comprehensive programme of free-to-enter technical seminars”.
The multi-million pound development of the Farnborough site as a major exhibition venue opens an exciting new chapter in its long history at the heart of the UK’s aerospace industry. Well served by road and rail links, FIVE offers 10,000 free car parking spaces, superb access and an excellent selection of hotels and restaurants nearby. The site also offers unlimited space for larger demonstrations and future expansion. Phil Valentine commented, “We are very excited to be part of this new development, and to add this major new event to our portfolio of regional engineering shows.”
