UK First for Waterjet to Process Wearparts
01 May 2007
Underlining its commitment to invest in the latest technology Sheffield based Mayflower Technology has purchased a new waterjet cutting system.
With a bed size of 12m x 3m this machine will be the first of its type in the UK.
As a Hardox wearparts service centre, Mayflower currently stock and process in excess of 2500t of wearplate per annum utilising their existing laser, profiling, pressing, machining and fabrication facilities.
The investment in waterjet cutting technology will enable Mayflower to cold cut wearparts such as shear blades, shredder blades, liner plates and hammers. Wearparts will be cut more accurately, eliminating any heat affected areas whilst reducing the need for machining.
