  • Maintenance workshop converts to subcon job shop

    Total Maintenance Solutions Ltd has in recent months invested more than £200,000 in new machine tools and related equipment. Initially set up to provide a support service to its maintenance teams working under contract throughout the UK, the workshop at TMS’s Sunderland headquarters is now a stand-alone cost centre.   

  • Degreaser helps turn the screw on SED

    With the solvent emissions directive (SED) set to come into force on 31 October 2007, turned parts specialist Tenable Screw Co Ltd has decided to take early measures to avoid potential fines by replacing a non-compliant Pero solvent degreasing machine with a new Pero V1 universal solvent degreaser from sole UK agent Kumi Solutions Ltd. 

    Turned parts subcontractor continues to expand

    Precision turned parts manufacturer, Qualiturn, has enjoyed a one-third increase in annual turnover to £2 million since moving to its new premises on the Mead Lane Industrial Estate, Hertford, in 2004.

    In February 2007, Gosport-based subcontractor, Norjon Engineers, doubled its annual turnover to more than £1 million by acquiring the order book of a local business specialising in thermoforming moulds for the food industry.
