North-west precision firm boosts sales at DSEi
18 Sep 2007
Merc Engineering showcased its services amongst the best of defence manufacturers earlier this month at the DSEi exhibition, at London’s ExCel, the World’s most prestigious defence show of its kind.
With a long history of defence expertise, Merc Engineering has created 20 skilled positions in the last six years, a period in which it has seen 400% growth in turnover.
Merc has also been able to break into the fast-growing medical market, securing substantial orders that have boosted the potential growth of the company to a further 80% by 2009.
Following the receipt of substantial orders, Merc is now investing in new machinery to support its customers. A Doosan Mynx NM510 Machining will arrive at the end of September, following a Doosan Puma MX2000ST Mill-Turn Centre which was commissioned at the beginning of the month. The latter is a multi-function machining and turning centre that will eliminate the need for individual machining operations and further increase Merc’s edge over the competition.
