Compressor upgrade supports capacity

WR Pressings of Brighouse, West Yorkshire, has replaced it air compressor system following a system a health check by compressed air specialists, Thorite.

The variable speed facility of the new HPC compressor has enabled WR Pressings to save over £2,000 per year on electricity consumption alone, whilst the higher quality of compressed air feeding the machinery also leads to reduced downtime.

WR Pressings provides a full range of toolmaking and pressings services to a range of industrial clients, particularly in the automotive, electronics and engineering markets. A large range of different types of metal pressings is produced, and tools of sizes up to 1.2m by 1.5m can be taken on.

The company operates production presses ranging from 20 to 300 tonnes capacity. The many different makes of large mechanical and hydraulic pressing machinery includes: High speed Bruderer stamping presses; Platarg deep drawing presses which produce cylindrical or any shape of drawn pressing, and; Rhodes presses.
