Brittany hosts bi-annual automotive event to meet the leading buyers
30 Jul 2008
Over 2,300 pre-arranged meet the buyer meetings were organised in 2005, for delegates at SIFAO the International conference and networking event for the automotive sector. The organisers of the biannual event expect 2007 to be even more successful when it takes place in Brittany, France on 21-22 November.
The event is organised by Performance 2010, the Automotive Cluster of Western France and Rennes Chamber of Commerce, with the support of Bretagne International, the regions development agency. The venue is at INSA one of Frances leading engineering institutions at the scientific park in Rennes, the economic and administrative capital of Brittany.
The automotive industry is the largest employer in Brittany, accounting for 30% of all jobs. PSA Peugeot Citroen employs 10,000 and produces its top-line cars at the Rennes site.
At SIFAO, the purchasing departments from leading companies will be there to invite suppliers and manufacturers to meet their particular current and future needs. including: PSA Peugeot Citroen, Faurecia, Visteon, Legris Autoline, Plastic Omnium, Johnson Controls, and Delphi.
The key benefit to delegates is undoubtedly the meet the buyer forum, where delegates can introduce their services to key companies through pre-arranged meetings. On registering for the conference, delegates simply indicate the specific companies or company types that they would like to meet and the organisers will arrange the meetings. In addition to the exhibition space, there are lectures on the latest innovations in the automotive sector plus smaller discussion groups with industry specialists. Demonstrations will be ongoing to show the latest tools, equipment and processes, such as embedded systems, sensors and software and visits to businesses and industrial parks in the area have also been arranged (such as to PSA Peugeot-Citroen).
