Crane care is a joy for Morris
13 Aug 2008
Morris Material Handling is providing a comprehensive, fixed-price maintenance service for Joy Mining Machinery in Worcester. The contract covers 50 overhead travelling cranes and some 120 jib hoists.
Morris has also undertaken additional project work, including the design and installation of further overhead travelling cranes.
Joy Mining Machinery say that the high risk activities associated with onsite cranes and jib hoists make it essential that the lifting equipment is maintained to the highest standards and in accordance with manufacturers’ maintenance schedules to ensure safe operation and optimum efficiency.
Resident Morris site engineers carry out daily safety inspections, routine planned maintenance, reactive breakdown maintenance and outside normal hour call-outs.
The contract is supported from Morris Material Handling’s Birmingham-based service centre – one of 11 located nationwide - with on-site technicians being deployed to coordinate and deliver the service.
Graham Dames, Morris Material Handling’s UK sales manager, said: “Our total crane care package has been devised as a means of helping clients budget for a service in complete confidence. Alongside the many other support packages we are able to provide clients, this particular service is proving increasingly popular.”
