Relocation, relocation, relocation

On-site machining specialist, M&A Engineering is to move into purpose-designed office and factory in Milford Haven.  Due for completion in early 2009, the complex will house the company's in-house production, training centre, offices and stores with adequate room for future expansion.

M&A Engineering is Wales' largest provider of in-situ precision machining services with a reputation for quality and value.  Its clients include Chevron Oil, A&P Falmouth, CB&I, Northwestern Ship Repairers, Murco and many prestigious names in the shipbuilding, marine, energy and metals sectors.  Its on-site machining services are vital for companies needing repairs or refurbishment with minimum downtime and maximum cost savings.

Designed by Ken Morgan Design & Building Management Ltd of Narberth, Pembrokeshire, work started on the 1.7 acre site of the new facility in June and ground-works are now well under way. So far, more than 30,000 tonnes of earth and rock have been excavated at the site, which overlooks the Milford Haven estuary and is ideally placed for local transport links and the important marine engineering market.  "This facility will take us to the next stage as a company and help to build our profile," says Managing Director Jon Mortimer.  "It is the culmination of many years of growth and reputation-building in the industry, but the start of a new era for M&A Engineering."

Upon completion, the new building will serve M&A Engineering's worldwide engineering capability and will be a local focus for the company's activities, whilst allowing a greater flexibility for workshop-based activities and contract work.  The warehouse will accommodate a 45 feet trailer for unloading and the workshop area will be serviced by an overhead twin beam 10 Ton crane with a 5 metre lift capacity.  In all, the first two phases of the development will yield 10,000 square feet of office and workshop space, with more to follow over the next 3 years.
