Regional development agency One NorthEast has signed a £30 million deal for PA Consulting Group to deliver its combined Manufacturing Advisory Service and North East Productivity Allicance (PA) until March 2013. One NorthEast brought the services together to simplify, streamline and improve manufacturing support across the region.
The regional development agency’s Chief Executive, Alan said: “As part of the arrangement we have agreed detailed plans with PA to ensure that everything is in place for a smooth transition to the new regional service.
“We are confident that PA will deliver a service which ensures the highest standard of quality and support for manufacturing businesses, across the whole of North East England.”
PA will manage and deliver the new contract from premises located within the region. Its first objective is to integrate the management of the existing NEPA and MAS services. Subsequently it will broaden the range of services available. One NorthEast will continue to work closely with PA to ensure the current level of service to the region’s organisations is maintained.
Alan Clarke added: “This contract reaffirms the Agency’s commitment to manufacturing in our region at a time when firms are feeling the effects of rising energy costs and the credit crunch.
“We will be working closely with PA to ensure that there is a seamless transition to the new service and that the quality of the service and the brand is maintained – so it is very much business as usual.”
Reflecting the importance of manufacturing to the region, the Agency will maintain a close involvement with PA to oversee the future development of MAS-NEPA and will ensure that the region’s manufacturers are able to have their views taken into account.
