Free seminars on Micro Manufacturing
03 Jul 2008
The Micro Manufacturing event, MM Live 2008, which will be held on 21 and 22 October at the Ricoh Arena, will feature a series of free educational seminars. These are designed to give a complete overview of the Micro Manufacturing technology spectrum and give newcomers an introduction to the manufacture of precision micro components.
Micro-manufacturing means that design engineers and manufacturers can now look beyond the size parameters that have limited their ability to innovate. It is now feasible to manufacture extremely small products — pan-industrially — with manufacturers all over the world embracing the potential this offers.
As the first dedicated Micro Manufacturing exhibition in the UK, the event has attracted leading expert speakers from around the world. The event will be chaired by Professor Duc Pham from the MEC, Cardiff and feature speakers that include: Donna Bibber, Micro Engineering Solutions, USA; Peter Manser, Centre for Micro & Nano Moulding, UK; Arthur Turner, Deckel Grinders, UK; Jonathan Montgomery, SmalTec, USA; Wally Cruz, Wallyco, Puerto Rico; and Svetan Ratchev, Precision Manufacturing Group, UK. A variety of topics relevant to all manufacturing sectors will be covered — from a state of the industry overview to in-depth discussions on micro moulding, micro milling, micro EDM, metrology and assembly.
The full programme can be seen at www.micro-show.com. The seminars are expected to be fully subscribed so visitors are advised to pre-register for the exhibition and register their interest in the seminar programme.
