Farnborough Airshow bigger than ever

As Farnborough International Airshow 2008 celebrates 60 years in Hampshire this summer, the show is on schedule to be the biggest event ever in the airshow’s history in terms of exhibition space and exhibitor presence.

Exhibition sales have been at record levels, with applications up on the previous show, and the final figure for exhibition sales just under 20% higher than in 2006. The total number of exhibitors is expected to be over 1500 - a 5% increase on last show. Chalet usage is at an absolute maximum with all units sold.

New exhibiting companies are coming to the show for the first time from emerging industry sections which reflect growth market areas for future shows, and which are of increasing interest to the Farnborough trade visitors. Representatives from the airport sector have increased, with Bahrain International Airport and Dubai World Central exhibiting, as well as aircraft interiors companies. Farnborough also welcomes Colombia as a new exhibiting country, while countries such as India, which through Hindustan Aeronautics is showcasing helicopters, are returning with bigger presence than at previous shows.
