A question of balance

Balancing and diagnostics specialist Schenck has expanded its network of regional contract balancing services by accrediting Luton-based AEM. The Schenck Balancing Centre at AEM offers the expertise and skills for balancing for all types and sizes of rotor up to 50kg mass, 1200mm length and 600mm diameter on a Pasio 50 balancing machine.
"There is a great demand for contract balancing services across a wide range of engineering industries - whether it is for R&D, prototype design, serial production and quality control or service and maintenance," said Roy Fulton, managing director at Schenck Limited, based in Warwick. "Accurate balancing is vital to improve performance, productivity, safety and reliability, but most companies do not have the technology or in house skills to carry out the work. That is where AEM and our other Contract Balancing Centres can help."
With UK sites in Luton, Stansted and Ramsgate, AEM is one of the largest independent overhaul and repair facilities in Europe and has been providing advanced engineering services since 1959. AEM has experience across all engineering sectors but specialises in aviation and aircraft systems, providing support for international and regional airlines, helicopter operators and airframe manufacturers.
"As an accredited Schenck Balancing Centre, we have access to world leading balancing and diagnostic technology and can draw on unparalleled knowledge and technical support," said Simon Rowley, Operations Manager at AEM. "Combined with our team of specially trained balancing engineers and well equipped machine shop, we are ideally positioned to deliver high quality, cost effective contract balancing services with a fast turnaround."
