One-hit benefits for PowerKut
14 May 2008
PowerKut is investing in a 4m bed Yamazaki Mazak Integrex e-650H II with a 45kW turning spindle and a 37kW milling spindle. One-hit machining on the new machine will allow increased unmanned running, reduce the risks to components during transfer of parts and improve overall accuracy of components.
“Buying a machine of this size and capability is important to PowerKut on a number of levels,” says Peter Everitt, PowerKut’s Managing Director of the Coventry-based company. “The 4m bed length is crucial for one particular contract that we have in the nuclear sector and the overall mill-turn capacity of the machine will enable us to complete work in a single set-up.”
“One other factor in our decision,” says Peter Everitt, “is Yamazaki Mazak’s commitment to the UK, which is absolutely clear, and in dealing directly with the manufacturer we are guaranteed continuity in our business relationship.”
