CPE makes a watertight case to an Astute customer

Corus Process Engineering (CPE) has been awarded a contract from BAE Systems Submarine Solutions Ltd to manufacture watertight doors for Astute submarines. These will be manufactured at CPEs Workshops in Workington and other will be delivered in stages, starting from January 2009 through to February 2010.

A Redditch company, Harper and Simmons, has established itself as the only press tool subcontractor in the United Kingdom with a £750,000 Shin Nippon Koki (SNK) tool and die multi-centre. The company says that this will allow it to offer the most accurate and efficient machine milling, drilling and boring available in the industry.
