An introduction to micro- and nano-manufacturing for £35

A one-day course in micro- and nano-manufacturing at The University of Nottingham on 6 November will combine an overview of the technologies, materials, processes and challenges with a look at the current and future state of the market and live demonstrations. External funding allows these courses to be offered on a subsidised basis at a cost of just £35 per person.

As well as an introduction to the concepts involved, participants will also have the chance to see several important technologies in action including micro-milling, micro laser processing, micro injection moulding, micro assembly, micro and nano scale metrology, nano scale machining and nano scale deposition.

As the course begins with an overview of micro and nano manufacturing technologies it is suited to a wide audience including R&D managers, business development managers and engineers from companies involved in the development and production of micro and nano scale product solutions.

This is one of a series of courses the University of Nottingham is offering in Advanced Manufacturing, with support from the East Midlands Development Agency and Higher Education Funding Council for England. The courses are specifically targeted to small and medium-sized businesses and aim to support growth, job creation and innovation in the region.
