For anyone involved in purchasing and managing the supply chain the show presents a wealth of subcontracting services. These cover all types of machining, electronics, fabrication, plastics moulding, toolmaking, metal finishing and much more. With so much on offer, it will be an ideal opportunity to benchmark existing suppliers.

As well as mainstream engineering and electronics, the exhibition also appeals to other manufacturing sectors such as food & drink, medical and pharmaceutical.

The Manufacturing Technology Ireland conference programme comprises 11 one-hour long individually bookable sessions. Topics are carefully selected to address industrys current concerns. The seminars are free, but places are limited by the seating arrangements and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Places for all the seminar sessions shown here can be booked on-line at where free exhibition tickets can also be requested. Alternatively call the organisers on 01784 880 890.

Exhibitors at Manufacturing Technology Ireland include:

B &M Longworth offers with a contract cleaning service, which is currently used by a broad range of process industries. It has particular expertise in polymer filter regeneration techniques. Cleanliness validation and testing are essential elements of the service. There is extensive in-house experience in dealing with a wide range of contaminants. Technologies employed take in ultrasonic and aqueous processes, enclosed high temperature solvent systems, controlled pyrolysis ovens, auto spray wash, slurry flushing and super-heated steam. All processes are monitored and analysed used extensive test and quality control systems

Safety sensors and switches are at the heart of Bernsteins business, but there is much more, but the company also markets all the peripheral equipment that essential to produce a complete safety package. It has all the resources to manufacture and assemble the total package. This takes in control enclosures, wiring harnesses, industrial housings, and all the sensors and switches. As part of its one-stop-shop policy, the company takes on board any external procurement necessary.

According to Laser Tube Ireland CNC laser cutting tubular and square section have simplifies the production of all kinds of intersections between tubes. The accuracy is such that dramatic savings are achieved downstream in the assembly of components. Welding is much more precise as better joints with a consistent weld gap are achieved every time. The company can process round tubes up to 8.5 metres long with diameters ranging from 12 to 152mm and square section up to 120mm.

Machining operations that would previously involve several consecutive processes such as sawing, deburring, drilling, punching, milling, or notching can now be completed in a single fully automatic operation.

Benson Engineering is an Irish subcontractor that has invested in multi-axis CNC lathes with driven tooling in order to achieve one-hit machining in a lights-out environment. Today, the company exports to China, Poland and the Czech Republic.

Current capacity goes up to 26 mm including seven multi-axis machines.

The core business at Keighley Laboratories revolves around heat treatment of metals and metallurgical services including chemical analysis and mechanical. The company provides a comprehensive subcontract service for heat treatment of ferrous and non-ferrous materials and is geared up to provide a one-stop-shop service that starts with prototype and development. Utilising its network of over 850 customers and suppliers, it can take onboard material supply, product manufacture and all special processes and treatments, offering a low-cost, low-risk alternative to conventional supply chains.

McAree Engineering not only produces arange of bulk storage silos for agricultural storage and water treatment plants, it also markets its two CNC laser-cutting machines and a CNC turret punch as a subcontract service. Also available is plasma cutting, CNC press bending, machining, welding and finishing. The company has extensive experience in contracting to agricultural equipment manufacturers, quarrying equipment, materials handling manufacturers and architectural design companies.

As well as its own product range, Drallim Industries offers a comprehensive design, prototype and manufacturing service. Originally focused around fluid controls, to day the company has expanded into pneumatic pressurisation and automation equipment. Also, it has developed strongly into the area of monitoring and partial stroke testing systems, ranging from helicopter load weighing systems through to sophisticated remote monitoring of valve and cable systems. The service ranges from a challenging re-engineering project to simply resolving a niggling design problem.

With some 15 CAD seats, equipped with the latest in design and communication hardware and software, Investment Tooling International can undertake the most complex tool design and manufacture projects. It has a major foothold in a number of key markets such as automotive where it supplies many of the international manufacturers with Low Pressure Injection-LPI- inmould cloth. It also manufactures mould tools for exterior and interior trim as well as lighting clusters and under-bonnet components. Specialised tooling for the Building and Household products sector include progression in-mould strip steel overmouding and two-component rotary platen tooling.
