ByteSnap Design Ltd has been shortlisted for two industry awards – Consultancy of the Year at the British Engineering Excellence Awards and Design Team of the Year at the European Electronic Industry Awards.

Open to companies with an engineering design function, the British Engineering Excellence Awards (BEEAs) aim to demonstrate and promote the quality of UK engineering design, provide a benchmark of excellence for the industry and recognise those making an impact on the world of quality engineering and design. Birmingham-based ByteSnap Design was named a finalist thanks to its ability to work on all project stages from conception through to prototype design and testing.
The European Electronic Industry Awards (The Elektras) are designed to promote best practice in key areas of the electronics industry and give European electronics companies the opportunity to showcase their achievements. One of only four finalists for Design Team of the Year, ByteSnap was shortlisted due to its exceptional in-house resources for the design of digital signal processing (DSP) to applications software.
Dunstan Power, director of ByteSnap Design and one of the company founders, said: “Being shortlisted as Consultancy of the Year and Design Team of the Year is a great honour and winning either of these awards would serve to showcase our growth and success over the past year. With around 60% of our business coming from repeat contracts, referrals and customer and hardware supplier recommendations, ByteSnap Design has enjoyed a successful 12 months including the launch of the industry’s first ever ZigBee® Smart Energy compliant metering module.”
The embedded systems consultancy is no stranger to awards, having won an ICT Excellence Award in 2010 for SnapUI. The lightweight, high performance windows embedded application framework was also certified by AccreditUK and achieved Microsoft Silver Partner status, making ByteSnap Design one of only three UK design partners to be awarded this standing.
The BEEAs winners will be named at an awards luncheon on Thursday 13th October 2011 at the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London while the Elektra winners will be announced at a joint awards dinner and Christmas party on Thursday 14th December at London’s Westminster Bridge Park Plaza.
