With a focus on continued growth, Ford Component Manufacturing not only offers a precision machining and presswork service, it is also one of the few companies in the world offering bespoke peelable shims.

Established in 1910, the company operates from two sites in South Tyneside Ford Aerospace and Ford Commercial both of which are currently experiencing growth. The company says that this positive trend is set to continue, and that as it gains market it share it will keep on investing in new equipment and recruitment. The Easipeel brand laminate shimstock produced by Ford Components is used in a wide range of industries. Easipeel and employs a resin based adhesive with a number of materials and in a variety of thicknesses supplied as sheets or as components to customer specifications.

The ability to peel individual layers to achieve a component of variable thickness provides manufacturers with a time and process advantage when assembling components, where a variation in tolerances exists. Laminate material also provides cost benefits by reducing the need for multiple solid shim and stocks.

Laminate material is available in stainless steel, aluminium and brass and is produced as standard sheet or can be converted using customer specifications to components.

Easipeel is also available as a hybrid sheet or solid material with layered foils of a chosen thickness from 0.025mm to 0.1mm and the standard sheet size is 1220mm x 610mm.
