Bolton-based plastic injection moulding company, MG Stuma, is celebrating after winning a £150,000 contract to design, manufacture and supply a new range of cycle products.
The contract could be worth in excess of £1m over the next few years.
The full-service project not only involves managing a large suite of tools from UK and China against very tight delivery lead times and manufacturing to high quality, but also delivering some of the product direct to independent retail outlets and multi-stores throughout the UK.
This deal comes at the same time as another significant contract to manufacture a range of products for the cookware sector.
Director of MG Stuma, John Sturgess, said: “The team at MG Stuma is delighted to have won this new business and to be able to continue our work in existing and new areas of production.
“Currently we are looking at least 10 per cent growth on last year’s turnover, which is very encouraging in this economic climate.
“We pride ourselves on our ability to work with both established product types and new concepts. Our strong technical ability, coupled with a dedicated workforce and a focus on customer service, means MG Stuma continues to go from strength to strength.”
MG Stuma has extensive experience working in, among others, the aerospace, defence, construction and leisure industries, amongst many more. In order to meet customer requirements and achieve a continual programme of development and improvement, MG Stuma has recently implemented a 24/7 working week.
Design and development is a central part of MG Stuma’s customer offer and the company is able to project manage a full service from the design stage, through to prototype and production.
MG Stuma employs around 100 people and is currently recruiting for shop floor operatives, and packing and assembly staff.
