Double win for GWR Fasteners
GWR won ‘Best New Business’ at the Shropshire Business Awards
Shropshire-based GWR Fasteners is celebrating a double win after being awarded ‘Best New Business’ at the Shropshire Business Awards and being chosen for a study by the Government.
The Shropshire Business Awards, now in their 14th year, are the largest business awards outside of London. GWR won the Best New Business Award after demonstrating its strength of vision, evidence of financial success, ongoing product development strategy to secure a long-term future and how to show factors which gave the business a sustained competitive advantage.
“We have had an amazing few weeks. To have won a Shropshire Business Award when there's so many successful businesses in this county has totally astounded us. The awards night was fantastic and we're still being showered with all the positive effects as a result of it,” said Gary Robinson, managing director, GWR.
In addition, the company took delivery of its first Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine, possible through the help of the Government’s Regional Growth Fund (RGF). From all the companies in the UK who have had access to the £3.2bn fund, GWR was chosen as one of six companies to feature as a case study in the Government’s RGF Annual Monitoring Report 2014.
“Also, to have been chosen by the Government to feature in their report will have far-reaching exposure for us. We feel honoured and proud of both achievements and we will continue to work hard in growing our company and becoming a major UK manufacturer,” he added.
GWR was set up in 2009, is a standard fasteners distributor and a manufacturer of special fasteners and precision components. The company also manufactures their GWR Colourfast – coloured stainless steel fasteners and components.
