Final call for IET innovation nominees
Last year’s IET Innovation Award winners
The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) has issued the final call for entries for its 2012 Innovation Awards.
The awards honour the most innovative individuals and companies at the forefront of science, engineering and technology.
This year’s awards, in recognition of the London Olympics, will feature the addition of a new category recognising the most ground-breaking sports technology innovations and applications.
Recognising the depth and breadth of innovative work being carried out across all areas of engineering and technology, at all stages of development, the IET Innovation Awards span 15 categories. These include electronics, healthcare and sustainability; and will be judged by a panel of more than 80 industry and academic experts.
Tim Hamer, director of knowledge at IET, commented: “Engineering plays a vital role in enriching our daily lives - from the transport that we take to the electronic devices that we use - and these awards recognise the most innovative players in industry.”
Entry to the Innovation Awards is free and full details can be found at www.theiet.org/innovation
The deadline for nominations is the 31 July and the IET will announce the 2012 shortlist in early October ahead of the prestigious ceremony, to be held at The Brewery, London on Thursday 22 November 2012.
