Newburgh Engineering’s Rotherham site has won a contract to supply components to leading off-highway diesel and gas engine manufacturer Perkins Engines.

Newburgh’s founding site, based in Bradwell, Derbyshire, has previously worked on smaller contracts for Perkins, but this contract win is a considerable boost for the Rotherham site’s team.

Commercial manager Matthew Jewitt said: “We are overjoyed to have been awarded this prestigious contract with such a well-known, long-established company.”

As a supplier of high precision components to the rail industry for many decades, Newburgh Engineering has the expertise and manufacturing capability to produce high quality engine components.

Managing director Vincent Middleton added: “This is a fantastic achievement for the Rotherham team, who have worked tirelessly to secure a contract which will see us build a working partnership with Perkins as we move forward into 2012.”

Newburgh Engineering, established in 1939, supplies components and assemblies to customers in major industries including nuclear, defence, oil and gas, and rail.
