Semta provides tools for success
Semta's toolkit provides employers with guidance for the recruitment and training of graduates
Semta has launched a Graduate Development Toolkit to help employers and graduates succeed in the engineering and advanced manufacturing industry.
The web based toolkit provides employers with easy access to information on guidance, processes and documents for the selection, recruitment, development and retention of graduates entering the sector. The kit is part of the Employer Investment Fund project designed by Semta and aimed at SMEs to employ and further develop graduates.
John Harris, higher education manager, Semta, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible, particularly for SME employers to engage with higher education and develop graduates to meet their business needs; the toolkit is by design simple and easy to use and provides comprehensive information to benefit businesses, students and graduates.”
By March next year, around 200 graduates are expected to be employed in the advanced manufacturing and engineering sector across the UK after new funds to support training were revealed last month.
