Subcon supports UK exhibitors
Many of the UK exhibitors at Subcon 2011 have already rebooked for the 2012 show
Next year’s Subcon Exhibition, from 12 to 14 June at the NEC, Birmingham, will extend its support for UK manufacturers by sponsoring the participation of key industry sectors – initially metalforming and cast metals.
Subcon is the UK’s only event dedicated to contract and subcontract manufacturing. As more and more UK companies look to outsource manufacturing operations, it plays a vital role in ensuring that they put British companies on their shortlist of suppliers and can benchmark them against a global market.
Next year, as well as providing a showcase for UK subcontractors, it is also offering solid financial support in the form of sponsorship of UK manufacturing sectors.
Subcon has already put in place agreements with the CBM (The Confederation of British Metalforming) and ICME (The Institute of Casting Technology) to sponsor the metalforming and foundry sectors. The support takes the form of free exhibition space for the CBM and ICME to promote their activities and the capabilities of UK suppliers, as well as a 10% discount on stand space for their members.
The organisers of Subcon are actively working to reach similar sponsorship agreements in other manufacturing sectors.
Subcon’s success in building new business for exhibitors comes from its undiluted focus on subcontracting and contract manufacturing services. This means it attracts the highest level of supply chain professionals from across the spectrum of British manufacturing.
These include specialist sourcing teams from blue-chip OEMs such as Rolls-Royce, Jaguar Land Rover and BAe Systems, as well as designers and production professionals from higher tier suppliers looking for dependable manufacturing partners.
Exhibitors confirm the quality of contacts made. Gerry Dunne, Chairman of MAN (Midlands Assembly Network) said: “We received more than 40 strong leads over the course of the three days and this could turn into hundreds of thousands of pounds of new business for the group.”
Many of the UK exhibitors at Subcon 2011 have already rebooked for the 2012 show. These include Axis Precision, Benham Manufacturing, MAN, Presspart, Perfect Bore, WEC Group, JP Forrest and Millennium Pressed Metal. New exhibitors already signed up for the show include Farsound Engineering, Summit Precision and Serious Engineering.
Exhibition Manager Jon Clark said: “Subcon scores over general manufacturing technology shows and sector-specific events because it attracts buyers from across manufacturing.
If contract and subcontract manufacturing companies are serious about winning new business it really is the only place to be.”
